안녕하세요! 암스테르담 대학교 파운데이션 과정을 시작하기 전에 센터헤드인 샐리로부터 받게되는 Email Task들에 대해 얘기하려고 합니다

Email Task?
9월 17일에 첫 등교를 하기 전에 샐리로부터 이메일이 세 번 옵니다. 첫번째 메일은 9월 5일, 두번째는 9월 11일, 세번째는 9월 14일에 받았네요. 각 메일 속에는 간단한 과제가 하나씩 들어있습니다. 제출 마감일은 명시돼있지 않지만, 개인적인 생각으로는 다음 메일을 받기전까지가 제일 좋고, 늦어도 첫 등교 전까지 내면 될것같습니다.

①첫번째 메일: 입학과정에서 인터뷰를 안했으면 자기소개를, 했으면 그 후로부터 뭘 했는지를 말해달라고 합니다. 이메일을 쓰는 형식도고민해보라고 하고요.
원문: Hit the reply button and send me an email. If we haven’t met already over Skype, introduce yourself to me. If we have, tell me a little about what you have been doing since then. Don’t spend hours trying to write something perfect, spend 5 or 10 minutes saying hello. Think about how you should start your email – and how you should end it. Make sure you include your name.

②두번째 메일: 영어 팟캐스트를 하나 듣고 요약해서 보내달라고 합니다.
원문: In this email I’d like to encourage you all to get used to listening to and reading as much English as you possibly can. Even if you already have the level of English you need for progression to UvA (and in some cases, even if you are a native-speaker) it’s certain that you can still improve. The better your level, the easier you’ll find your studies and the more successful you will be. I love the podcasts on the BBC website http://www.bbc.co.uk/podcasts. You can read and listen at the same time and there is such a wide variety of topics that there is something for everyone. So – Task 2 – find a podcast, listen to it and then send me a brief summary. It doesn’t have to be from the BBC, it can be from a local site of that’s easier. All I ask is that it is in English. :)

③세번째 메일: 이번 년도에 어떤 어려움을 겪게될 것 같은지, 그리고 그걸 어떻게 극복할 계획인지 써달라고 합니다.
원문: I expect you’d all like one more task? Well – OK then. It’s simple really. Have a think about what challenges you will face this year. It might be passing the Maths course, it might be English. It might be overcoming shyness or homesickness. It might be something simple or complicated but there will be something that each of you will need to overcome in order to get the great resultsyou are capable of getting. Now – write me an email and tell me what that challenge is (or challenges are) and, more importantly,tell me how you are going to overcome it (or them). It will be really interesting to be able to look back over your thoughts during the year!​ 

뮤지엄 라이프를 즐기고 있던 도중에 예상치 못한 과제들이 날라와서 좀 당황했었기 때문에 이 정보를 공유합니다

이 과제들을 하나도 안했더라도 왜 안했냐고 뭐라고 하는 사람은 못봤습니다. 하지만 저는 귀찮더라도 꼬박꼬박 다 하는게 훨씬 낫다고 생각해요. :)
