Progression to MSc Finance and Accounting

Due to the high volume of demand for progression to MSc Finance and Accounting this 2019/20 intake, the Pre-Masters programme (PMP) and English for Pre-Masters (EPM) programme at Sheffield International College are adopting the following measures for all students.

1.     PMP for MSc Finance and Accounting for January and March 2020 intakes are now closed with immediate effect

-          No further offers or confirmations will be processed from the 23^rd April 2019

-          For students who have already confirmed their place for the January 2020 intake, a qualified IELTS test is required to retain the students place on the course. The deadline for submission of IELTS is the 1st August 2019

-          If students are unable to meet the IELTS requirement and submit the results by the deadline we will provide alternative study options and revise the student’s status back to offer stage. Alternative study options we will recommend include; MSc Money, Banking and Finance, MSc Financial Economics and MSc International Financial Economics at the University of Sheffield. Alternatively for students interested in studying MSc Finance and Accounting this degree option is available at alternative partner universities, including the University of Surrey, the University of Sussex and the University of Strathclyde (students will need to be re-assessed for these alternative options).

2.     PMP and EPM for MSc Finance and Accounting for September 2019 intake will be closed on or before the 26^th April 2019 

-          We will no longer issue offers or process confirmations on or after this date

-          A waiting list will be in place for students who confirm after the deadline

-          For students who are confirmed successfully, a qualified IELTS result is to be provided by the 1st August  2019

-          If students fail to submit the IELTS by this deadline, we will provide alternative study options and revise the student’s status back to offer stage. 

3.     EPM for MSc Finance and Accounting for the June 2019 intake will be closed on or before the 3^rd May 2019

-          We will no longer process confirmations or issue offers on or after this date

-          A waiting list will be in place for students who confirm after the deadline

Due to the high volume of confirmations, students for MSc Finance and Accounting are unable to defer their place on the course. The earliest intake available for PMP will be September 2020.

Please note, it is possible that we will not be able to confirm the students place on the course even if they pay the deposit and return the required acceptance forms before the deadline, due to the high volume of confirmations expected during this period. We will place students unable to confirm their place on the course on a waiting list if the capacity is reached before the deadline.

Waiting list Policy

-          For students to be registered on the waiting list they will be required to have met the IELTS condition for the course, pay the confirmation deposit and submit the signed acceptance documents.

-          For students on the waiting list that are unsuccessful in obtaining a place on the course they will be eligible for a refund as per our standard refund policy (235 GBP enrolment fee non-refundable).

-          We will be monitoring the size of the waiting list throughout the year and may close this depending on the volume

All other progression options are still open, however we strongly suggest students to confirm their place as early as possible to avoid any disappointment.
